    On Spotlight: Akatsuki no Yona

It’s been a while since I made an anime/manga rec here (for those who are into it, you can follow my other nonsensical blog called kyaa for more concentrated animanga goodies) *coughs* I’m featuring shoujo manga this time with bishies (hot looking guys) and a banished princess, the anime/manga is called Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) by Mizuho Kusanagi. Great for those who love fantasy series like Throne of Glass and want to dip into the wonderful realm—

    Seemingly impossible journey?

The thing I love about this year is the books are trying to move from the recent trends. Gone are those generics book covers aka girl in pretty dress plaguing the shelves. Or those books that were riding the coat tails of Hunger Games and Twilight. I think readers had grown up from it. I’m tired, you are tired, and everyone wanted something new. Something different. And different do I get. The thing is I’m slight pissed off with myself—

Spring wrap up! + Summer Watch-list!

Kinda disappointed with summer list this year because last year was all kinds of epic. In fact anime from last year ignited the inner otaku in me. There was Nozaki, Barakamon and of course, Tokyo Ghoul. When I was checking the list of the upcoming shows I was little saddened that I only have three series I’m interested to follow. But the good news is that almost all the series I’m following for spring is still ongoing! Arslan Senki (which—

What is it like to be a shipper?

You know its official when Wikipedia has page for the term. So the scenario is you read a book. Fortunately or unfortunately it has romance and there were two characters that were giving you all these kinda of romantic feels. You have that strong desire; that colossal wish that they’ll end up together. So much that you can’t get it out of your head & you start searching the web for more information. And then you stumbled across sites where—

    On Spotlight: Hatsu Haru!

If you didn’t know I love shoujo romantic plot where the guy is the one who is madly in love with the girl or if the guy is the one who falls in love first. Plus point if the heroine is oblivious about it. I don’t know, I like the chase & I love the guy to suffer a little bit (needs to work his ass off to make her fall in love) that’s why this series hit me right—

    Unpopular Opinion Book Tag!

I wasn’t also tagged just like Mel from Daily Prophecy where I got it from. But the questions are interesting and while reading her answers I was unconsciously formulating my own & since I didn’t get to finish the book I was reading I decided to do this instead. A Popular Book or series that you didn’t like. Stormdamncer/Lotus War by Jay Kristoff with fiery passion!  😡 It was a big slap on the face along with my love for—

Some Filipino words to live by—

Or not. 😉 But I’ll indulge you with some! Mabuhay at Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! It is Independence Day here in the Philippines so I decided to pitch in something, well, Filipino. I remembered a brief discussion on my timeline (I forgot exactly which people were they but I did remember Aimee & Shanelle talking about it then also this buzzfeed article—which inspired this post). There are certain words that I’m very used to that sometimes I want to pitch—

Me, my emotions, & these fictional characters.

I think one of the most vital things an author needs to establish are the characters. I am character/s driven reader. I root, I swoon, and sometimes get way too invested in their lives that no matter how long it was since I read/watched, it still remains in my head (and to make matter cheesier—my heart). But some people took their liberties to squash your connection by stating an obvious fact: it’s fiction. So what? I don’t think it weighs—

    I claimed it: a semi-productive month~!

Ok, I think I was semi-productive last May. There were tons of things I managed to do (with still things I still haven’t started. *sighs* But let’s stay positive so it’ll boost my confidence; something I want to carry on this June! May in a nutshell! How closely should fiction mirror real life?; The Ultimate Book Tag! Haha, I slack at discussion this month. I was also featured by Chiara @ Delicate Eternity about my passion on web design. *blushes* Interview—
