August: Look what life made me do!

Yes, a nod to Taylor’s new song. Evidently I still like her despite the ‘old Taylor’ being dead. But I hope her album isn’t exclusively like her first single. Anyhoo, time to wrap-up the month. So August… if I were to sum it up in one word I guess ‘crazy’ would fit the bill. Not that anything super crazy happened but there was mixed of ‘oh my gosh this is awesome’ to ‘life isn’t treating me right!’ Yeah, how dramatic!—

Gearing your blog to a brand new direction.

After three tries, would I consider re-branding easy? I think so…and in some aspects it is also not. I’m not really the best person to ask about blogging, I may have 7 years under my belt but I’ve always been unpredictable—that whatever I’m interested in at the moment or whatever floats my boat I immediately want to integrate it in my blogging. This was how I blogged before…the me before where I happily blog in solitude, and I want to—

An overseas ‘otaku’ and what it means to be one!

I’ve read a couple of online posts about being an ‘otaku’ in Japan.  The word simply means being a fan, it could be anything and not just anime + manga.  Yep, when I say anything I mean anything, like train for example (who wouldn’t get envy with Japan’s mass transport, ours is so…let’s just not talk about it.) But I’m not really an expert on this being I’m not Japanese, and never been to Japan (oh my gosh, let this—

    Am I highly critical reader?

I never saw myself as a highly critical reader.  Sure, as time goes by my taste did change and there are certain types of narratives don’t appeal to me anymore, and it cannot fill the entertainment value I was longing for. But critical in a way critiques are…I will never be like that. The biggest reason perhaps is that I rarely see myself get entertained by overly complex plot—not that its most importance aspect is to get entertained, I reckon—

My anonymity and why I value it so much.

If you’re gonna ask if it’s possible to retain you anonymity despite having a platform online where you can get carried away with the things you’re sharing, it’s still possible. I highly value my privacy, that’s why I still float around with my online alias badge.  I’m not comfortable baring everything on the interwebs, I’m cautious that way. So maybe, some of the peeps online already know my real name (and you know how search engines tracks us all the—

Ten Popular Manga Series I haven’t finished yet!

Confession time! Despite my obvious obsession with reading manga I still have so many series that I haven’t finished yet! Some are even popular that those who know me are always surprised whenever I bring this fact up! I’m inclined to put the series on-hold whenever the current arc is not interesting to me. This list is pretty much an attestation of that! There are other factors that deterred me from reading: back in the days I solely relied on—

So long thanks for all the fish!

With my new domain also came with major decision! I’ve finally decided to quit the fanlisting business. After 10+ years I say adieu! If you don’t know what fanlisting is, the concept is pretty easy—build a small site dedicated to a subject and let people or precisely the fans to join! I fell in love with the fanlisting in the late 2000s. I found a group of awesome web designers and anime + manga fans alike! It was a blast.—
