August: the chill vibes, the rainy season, & lotsa of hot chocolate drink!

Sure time flies so fast! I’m writing my August wrap-up and that means the “ber” months are already here. But before I go and get nervous about how the end of the year is fast approaching, let me share what has happened this month which is a big thingy in my family…wait, I’m not allowed yet to share…so maybe next time. But the month was pretty calm and relaxing month overall. Calm in a way that I gotten lazy and—

I have not completely given up on trying to read books…but I’m not actively pursuing it anymore.

See, I know, you know (maybe not, but in case you’re old timer here, you already knew) but for clarification for the stumble uponers, I’m saying it again, I used to be a book blogger…reviewer…or whatever fancy term I called myself before. Point is my focus was book. My blog was about books. Anything bookish things, actually. But mostly book reviews. Still, it was books. Then this happened. And I try. And I try and try to look back and—

What kinds are my favorite blogs to follow?? Here I am now telling!

I admit the one major aspect the leaves a quick impression to me is the blog’s design (a designers prerogative me thinks). A good design blog makes me wanna go “ooooh~” with heart eyes.   But that first impression will wear off, and eventually it’s not the one that sticks, it’s still the content that will make me subscribe for the loooong haul. When I was still a book blogger, 90% of the blogs I follow were book blogs. But—

One Story, different interpretations! Our ways of reading.

I’ve heard, more like read it from somewhere, if I remember correctly from an author, that once they published the story it’s not in their hands anymore. It’s now in their readers. And those same readers have all the rights to see the story that way they understand it. Is this always true? Is it all about our interpretation now? How about the author’s intended purpose? I’ve always been a believer of reading as personal journey. It is something you—

He’s popular than the main character! MC who??

I’m such a fan of main character, and that’s reasonable, and of course obvious, because I’m reading the story where the focus is on the protagonist. It’s very inevitable not to fall for the MC and all the circumstances that he’s involved in. But there are times when supposed secondary character is trying to steal someone’s thunder. Rare but not impossible. Let’s start of with my recent favorite 僕のヒーローアカデミア you know Bakugou? Yes, that foul mouthed brat who just likes—

I stan emojis and why I bedazzle my blog posts with it.

Once upon a time I tweeted how I described my blog (or my blog’s aesthetic so to speak) I mentioned that my blog is “gloriously pink, deliberately messy, and abusively emoji-ed.” Yes, I’m guilty of littering my post with emoji. Childish? Perhaps, but I think it’s just fits my writing personality. It adds personality and some way convey extra emotions coz you’ll be able to express your emotions via these emoji. I got comments that they thought I was younger—

    I ain’t hatin’ a character ‘cos he’s pretty flawed!

Last month I talked about my “hate list” (or more like let me justify my unreasonable hatred to this character & yes, I’m human capable of eliciting irrational anger towards a fictional character), but that being said, I’m very tolerable person in nature, so sometimes I “kinda” understand why they act that way, still, there are many things that affect my acceptance to this specific character, and very dependent to the plot not on the character mold or stereotype those—
