What’s On My Reading List?

4 years ago | filed under Regular
There’s an evidently decreased with my reading list last April! With my new schedule, some personal endeavors and that travel trip I was little to no mood to do some new reading! But nonetheless I still read. I think I was giving myself some favor actually, that I stop scouring currently new ongoing series added to my trove because last month I did some reorganizing with my current reads and filed at google drive, and I’m absolutely aghast on how much series I’m currently following!!!—almost 100??!! Yeah, so yeah…I have no shame #weeb #waytoomuch #ihasnolife [column-quarter-1] 兄友 [/column-quarter-1] [column-quarter-2] エス

I didn’t read a lot of manga last month (at least not the usual)! But that didn’t mean my read-list had minimized; no, no, people, it did not! I followed couple of new webtoons after (again) I installed a new app on my phone that only lead to me submerging more into reading! Gotta say reading makes me happy so why not! What’s On My Reading List! is an in-house regular feature here on Rainy Ink where I present you what I’ve read last month. I revive this feature in order to track down the series I read and or

It felt like I did a lot of reading then I didn’t… I once again succumbed to the world of re-reading (you always cannot not find me rereading—I grab every chance I get). For brand new series, yeah, I didn’t do much this month. For several titles (ones that are marked with * to be precise) are actually those I tried before, dropped or halted then miraculously picked it up again and finally finished it.  There was something about last month that made me read all those series even though I thought I’ve completely severed my ties with ‘em. I think I spend more time rereading old series than picking up news one (although I’m not gonna listed them down here anymore).  It’s kinda interesting to see different art trends of the 90’s and early 2000s. It feels very wistful~  haha Anyway I did some reading again and I’m here to share them! Let’s start! Pretty satisfied with my manga reading last December! I was pretty happy with the series I tried.  Yeah, “tried” because while I read a decent amount I’ve never gone past one or two volumes (and those I want more are currently ongoing like Bara Kangoku no Kemono-tachi which I absolutely adore! ) Anyway, I’m pretty pump up for the New Year so hopefully this enthusiasm transfer to my reading habits (perhaps to books as well). Gotta keep it up, keep it up! Honestly I didn’t do much reading last month! I blame Mystic Messenger for that! In some weird coincidence there was some sort of cohesiveness to the themes of the manga I read last month. Some were about brothers—step-siblings, childhood friends turned lovers, titles starting with months, etc, etc. I just find that awesomely amusing! When I was organizing this post I was like ‘what are the odds’ or ‘I’m such a simpleton, what’s so funny about this?!’ Haha, I know some of you might not get it, don’t mind me I’m just being my normal weird self. But I’m back devouring shoujo /josei manga and I think it’ll continue this November as I just

Oh~ that time of the month again where I unabashedly share series that I've just read! It was very weird reading month for me. It felt like I read a gajillion worth of chapters then but the time I listed them down one were just hella long & few were rereads (I don't list them though!): even though I still have new series I’m planning to read (maybe this October??!!) Not that I'm actually complaining, I'm shameless serial rereader! And I also ended up reading few webtoons on the side. And one of them has 400+ chapters!!! Aahhhh!!! [column-third-1] Bokura

I read lots of webtoon last month but of course I didn’t neglect my never ending pile of manga! I have few volumes left and honestly as much as I would love to slowly grasp Japanese I’m just innately lazy and look for other series I can, you know…easily understand. I cut corners, I know! The amount of series I desire to read is endless. It’s the language that making it hard to do so! (Do I now need to learn Korean now? Like seriously those gorgeous series on Lezhin!!!) So how was July, reading wise? A little bit of this and little bit of that! (or whatever that means! ) I tried few series but some didn’t leave enough impression to progress significantly! I’m trying to rectify that this August (and I think I did improve by picking up a great series to start of the month!) But let’s pedal-backed to last month and check out what did I read! Statistics wise, it was kinda balanced compare to previous months obviously shoujo dominated reading list! Last month I read (5) five shoujo, (4) four shonen, (2) two josei & (1)

June was chaotic, in a sense that I put myself into many things more than I can handle—or so I thought. I might’ve sacrificed my blogging time to fulfill these responsibilities but never my reading time. Thus my reading list was little too much this time around (again)! But some of this manga are short/one to three volumes titles. I might have cheated, now that I think about it. In addition I just found three new series that I can happily add to my roster of favorites! Another note, I feel like I’ll be reading less this July, my schedule

OK so I did some reading. Like tons of reading.  Sometimes I just wolfed down the pages and then hopped onto my next series as easy as 1, 2, 3. I easily get bored, everyone. When I’m resting I read. I remember Haise said that he loved to read because he doesn’t want to sit idle while consumed by his own thoughts. Yep, same case applies to me. I like doing nothing but I don’t want to think. My thoughts are plagued by worries and whatnots and I don’t like getting anxious over something (shooting my stress level up unnecessarily

I’m pretty happy with my reading list for last month. It’s not completely even out because romance department still dominates my reading palate. However I got to try some good action series to balance that out—although some shoujo/josei reads aren’t exactly the lovey-dovey type. Ah, let’s get this show rolling! Books: Went to bookstores (dropped by two NBS branches) yesterday, and I’m quite disappointed with the evident decreased of YA selections. It had two alleys for Teens and now, only few and popular books are shelved. It’s kinda sad, I miss those days that they released new books almost regularly

You already have an idea what went through with me in March, reading-wise (or at least if you did read my wrap-up, that is). To recap, I barely did some reading last month because of how chaotic and crazy everything went through (with summer approaching then with combination of uncertainties & impulsiveness mixed in, so yeah, my plate was pretty full then). However I still did some reading although I mostly chose short & finished series instead (you know I can’t just stop reading even for a month—of whatever medium). And not to jinx it (speaking of it this early
