This is final part of my Shoujo Fanfare. I hope you enjoy my nonsensical ramblings about shoujo and josei. But once again, let me refresh your minds: Hello, this is Shoujo Fanfare, Rainyink’s Love Month Special Feature! In four weeks I will (try to) showcase my obsession with shoujo (and josei) manga. If you are fan of—

This is a Confession of a True Shoujo Fanatic!

You’ve probably know already (if you’re a long time lurker and know me for quite a while) that I love reading shoujo/josei manga. What can I say a love the romance genre, regardless how cynical I am when it comes RL stuff (which I don’t wanna go further in anyways ) but reading romance is my silent sanctuary (also yes, sometimes it pisses me off how shallow stories can be, but who cares; mindless entertainment is what I need most—

It was all about shoujo love for February~ + others!

I have come to appreciate the wonders of being organized! Preparing future post is such a good thing to do. Although I still find my style to be on the spontaneous side of things. But whenever new ides came, I always made sure to take note of it. Instead of my usual attitude, “I’ll post this because I can!”—though I sometimes still cave in to that impulse! Baby steps, self. Baby steps. February in Nutshell I think I was semi-productive—

    January in a Nutshell~!

So the first month of year is done! How’s the NY’s resolution guys? Did you have a great start? Me? Well, pretty much OK, and pretty much not so.  I’m still pump up though! But I can’t still shake the feeling of disappointment. As some of the things I plan I do for this month, and finally did (not all but…), didn’t result in what I had in my mind and now I’m in a pickle! Not gonna dig the—

    Twenty Sixteen: Throwback

When it comes to some things, I try my best to be optimistic! (for a naturally debbie downer that’s big!) But for me 2016 was kind, sorta, maybe—definitely…MEH? I was beaming with positivism and excitement when the year started but not everything I had in mind happened. BUT!!! It doesn’t mean that it was an awful year altogether! Sure there were things that I certainly wanted to blossom but it didn’t. But there were things that I didn’t expect did—

The first monthly wrap-up of the year like whut?!!

I think the year started quite right for me. I made some good decisions, goal planning (something personal!) and brainstorming post ideas for the blog and whatnots. I have some stuff prepared for February too & I couldn’t be happier how productive I am right now! Book wise, I’m still a little behind (who am I kidding, A LOT! I’m behind like a lot!) So don’t be fooled by the number of my GR challenge because I read an amazing—

    Shipping like a girl-boss in non-romantic series!

Sometimes shipper remains a shipper regardless of the genre or demographics. Case in point? Me! There are plenty of times that I ship pairings in a series where the romance is not really its priority…or there’s none at all. But somehow it doesn’t deter me from rooting the couple, because I know chemistry when I see one so what else can I do? I just indulge to shipper’s impulses. The craving I tell you, is hard to deny. It’s not—

How I choose my OTP/s (do I actually choose it?)

When it comes to shipping I’m the girl to ask! OK, not really because I tend to be very erratic when it comes to my OTPs. Although certain tropes helped mold the ‘one’ I must say that when the pairing hit me so hard, it just hit me so hard—solid heart-racing feels that is! Do I need to emphasize how notorious shipper I am? I think I have written tons of spazzing about my woes and foes as one.  Also—

The boys who fell too hard!

Male love interests falling in love first is one of those tropes that can easily convince me to try the manga (romance wise). I think I already mentioned it here how I immediately fall in love with stories if the main male love interest is the first one to fall. I don’t know why, in many stories, the way he struggles just to get the affection of his otherwise naïve apple of the eye is just so interesting. Plus, this—

    Not so happily ever after…

I know that ‘unrequited love’ plotline is not exactly new. But most people do read to escape, and by escape they are inclined to choose a happy sort of feeling in stories rather than a hard slap in the face realistic approach (as such this romantic plot angle implies). At least to me, I gravitate more on series that I knew is fun or happy rather than one that will make me sad. I do occasionally seek reads like these—
