Hi, welcome to A Noypi Reads! a new feature here in my blog. This post is about books written by Filipino authors that I have read. I decided to read & review works from my fellow kababayan.

Author: Yna Paulina
Published: August 2012
Publisher: Precious Hearts Romances, Corp.
Categories: Contemporary, Filipino, Realistic Fiction

Synopsis: May found out December was a brilliant animator but he was an introvert and a loner. She was friendly and outgoing so Lola Guada thought she could teach December a thing or two.

The inevitable happened and they fell in love. The two people less likely to fall in love already did.

Sa mom ko ‘to usually hindi ko type yung mga pinipili niya pero mukhanhg naka-jackpot siya dahil from the bunch I read (including the four I bought) this one merits a review. Pero ang istorya nito ay talagang maganda kung baga in English it has a certain kick and not the usual romantic flare I read from these kinds.

He’s not the brooding type that girls swoon for.  Or he is brooding to make him deep. Natural e. Ang ganda ng chacaterization niya. I mean the first passage of the book has already this peculiar vibe:

ISA AKONG pader.

Most of the story is written in his perspective (in third POV). Mas madali ako nakarelate sa character niya siguro may pagkakahawig ang personality namin. May was also a likable characater, she is bubbly and has obsessive fondness on make-up even though she is pretty enough without it. Nakarelate din ako sa kanya kasi almost the same age kami and we are fickle minded career wise. I understand her perfectly.

The romance? Sweet, ansgty at may parte ding sensual. I’d like that the third parties of the relationship wasn’t really explored so to highlight their blossoming romance. Of course meron din complication in the middle and as usual, the reasons are misunderstanding of the situation and two egos involved. But like all pocketbooks it will and always ends in happily ever after.  And no I am not complaining. I love HEA!
