Anime, News /

We’re already almost midway through the year; can you believe it? I always say time flies so fast but seriously it really does. 5 months into the year and I can barely see improvement on myself—reading-wise that is. *sighs* Let’s do this monthly wrap-up!

April in a Nutshell!

I also reviewed:

  • Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (sadly, I’m tiny bit disappointed!)
  • 99 Days by Katie Cotugno (I’m severely disappointed! *insert angry emoji—WP made changes with emojis on their latest update!*

I was also featured in a fun chat with Jayvee from Writer for Misfits. We talked about nothing but anime & manga and that chat took us 2 hours! It was a very fun experience.

rest-of-usARC Acquisition:

Harper Collins updated on EW and it felt like Christmas in April. I downloaded, three titles I think? But one that I’m really excited is Patrick Ness’s The Rest of Us Just Live Here. That will be my very first book of his and heard nothing but great things about his books. Also I came back to Netgalley after months & months! And two of my requests got approved, I’m so happy! So yeah, ARCs I’m back! *pushes sleeves* Reading motivation I need you right now!

Other fandoms, passion & whatnots:

I did some productive thing like making a new theme for my animanga blog, Kyaa (go visit it!). It was an effort to make my all blogs responsive. With that said, keep an eye for Aeropapers,  (although this blog is responsive I’m still not quite satisfied) & maybe my main domain as they’re the next one to get a facelift. I’m coding it already so few more days to finish (need to trim down the details). Speaking of design, I don’t know what to do with just peach. I’m thinking of just opening an etsy store. No plans to expand this sideline of mine since it’s very time consuming. No worries, I do accept commission albeit selectively and no rush job since I need to focus on one project at a time.

Also, spring time is here—well, on Japan that is. So many anime to watch. I’m watching 5 series right now: Arslan Senki, Gintama, Ore Monogatari, of course Kuroko no Basket & now two new favorites of mine (marathoned the manga for days~!) Shoukugeki no Souma & Owari no Seraph!

It is summer here and the heat is so unforgiving!!! *wipes sweat while typing all of these!*

That’s what had rolled down this April, so now I turn over to you beautiful bookish peeps; how’s last month?! Fun? Exciting? Whatever that is, share it with me!!!

16 Responses to April~! Summer month & I can’t take the heat!

It’s ridiculous that it’s May. When did that happen? I am completely baffled.

I’M SO HAPPY YOU’RE JUST AS EXCITED ABOUT THE REST OF US LIVE HERE. It’s one of the few books I’m looking forward to because PATRICK NESS <3.

  2. Kezia says:

Ahhh I like the icons that you’ve chosen for Kyaa <3 It's so colorful and cute!

Wheee, I'm glad you finally continued Souma! That series is filled with so many talented cooks as well as delicious food! The only downside is I keep getting hungry every time I read it hahaha. *weeping over my non-existent cooking skills*

Ahh, it's great that Owari no Seraph ends up being one of your favorite! I love the story, but I admit I'm not too fond of the opening somehow :/ maybe it will grow on me over time haha

    • Mitchii G. says:

It is, right? Even though I haven’t read it myself but I wanted it as an icon so I made it possible, HAHA.

I’m happy that i did. I’ve been anime first then manga. So I’m glad the anime gave me the boost I need. I’m too ken with the OP of Owari but I do really love it, cliches withstanding. 😛

  3. Faye M. says:

I can’t wait to see another site facelift! I adore your designs, Mitchii 🙂 They’re so neat and elegant and just plain pleasant to look at. I should make an anime/manga blog as well, although I’m a bit unsure because the only manga I follow right now is One Piece. Haha!

    • Mitchii G. says:

Aw~ thank you Faye. It’ll me monochromatic like all my designs are. <3 Please do! There's not a lot of animanga blog, I've noticed. :,)

  4. Loving the new design you did for Kyaa – it’s so bright and joyful. xD And I can’t wait to see what you think about The Rest of Us Live Here, especially if it’s your first Patrick Ness book, then I suppose it will be extra magical for you. 😉 Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous recap! <3

    • Mitchii G. says:

I do hope that it’ll be magical. I’ve always been curious with superheroes theme; & what’s make it stand out from the rest it’s about the sidekicks. So it is definitely worth reading! And thank you, that was vibe I was hoping for when I made the new theme. :3

  5. Harper is magical. The only problem is I NEVER request from them because I know I won’t have time to read it. I’m still trying to figure out how to be efficient with the ARCs I do have <3

This month, I was able to get some reading time in but mainly, focused on school! It's actually one of my first times on your blog and Wow! I love it!

    • Mitchii G. says:

I wish I have the big resistant to ARCs. I just couldn’t deny them even though I have a huge TBR to deal with. T.T And thank you! <3

  6. OMG, THE REST OF US JUST LIVE HERE IS ON EW?!?! I can feel my self-control disappearing… Harper always comes up with so many books I want to read, but sadly my reading output can’t keep up so I have to exercise a LOT of self control. But you know what, I think I’ll just log on and download TRoUJLH and quickly close the tab before I can tempt myself further. 😛 Hopefully it’ll motivate me to read more, too!

You already know how much I love Kyaa!’s new design, and eeep, I can’t wait for Aeropapers’ and Skycircus’ ones! I just know they’re going to blow me away as usual. 😀 And yup, blog designing is really time-consuming. But I know how much you like it, so I hope you figure out what to do about JP soon!

Shokugeki no Soma is faaaaaabulous. I’m not a fan of cooking, but omg, the food! My sister cooked the potato wrapped in bacon (from the first ep.) a few days ago so that was great, haha. And I’m hoping to start Owari no Seraph soon because so many people seem to love it!

(Yup, the heat here is horrible, too. I swear I wake up every morning covered in sweat. Gross!)

    • Mitchii G. says:

*pokes you to download it* It is super cool so I hope it is worth the temporary lax from your self-control. >///< Thank you! I'm starting to dislike it, ha. So I might postpone a bit more. :,D Do watch/read Owari no Seraph, it is so awesome! xD

  7. I don’t accept that it’s already May. It’s still like, March in my brain. 😉 And the heat is KILLING ME. I would love to bathe in ice cubes right now.

Harper went crazy in April! I also resisted some of the titles but ended up downloading a few, of course that includes The Rest of Us Just Live Here. So excited for it!

I ALREADY LOVE HOW AEROPAPERS LOOKS. But it’s your blog, and I’m sure the new design will be just as (if not 1000000x more) fabulous. 😉

    • Mitchii G. says:

Oh my gosh, the heat is unbearable. T^T And YAY! Glad you caved in & downloaded The rest of Us… it sounds so cool, yes?

      >///< Thank you, Aimee. You really are a darling! <3

  8. It is May. We are almost half a year into 2015 and it’s just CRAZY. Where did all the other months go?

Anyways, I’m also guilty of downloading books from Edelweiss – again. Harper is my guilty addiction ;p
