February is love month, and last February 14 was Valentine’s Day! And while we cherish the people we love—particularly everyone’s partner in life—we tend to forgot to give major spotlight to other kinds of love stories! So, it’s a perfect time to celebrate all kinds of love and not just the romantic ones! They are, for me, are extraordinary love stories too that is equally worth highlighting (and that’s big coming from huge romantic junkie like me!) Whatever that is, maybe it’s love for mother nature, family, friends, I also came to witness them through reading!
Yes, I’m single but I’m not bitter. It’s just I have come to decision to live my life the way it is now. It’s totally OK for me to aspire to be a rich auntie (I love my nephews and niece!) Kidding aside, maybe fiction has totally skewed my romantic aspirations and goals but the same said fiction also made me appreciate all kinds of love! Love for yourself, love for your family, love for your friends! If we look closely we all are wrapped up with all kinds of love we just tend to forget about it because how highly commercialize Valentine’s Day is! I know that it mostly caters to love of the romantic kind but who says that we can’t celebrate it with kind of love we know personally? Right? Right!
(4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (5) It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (6) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (7) It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love is simple, but at the same time I also find it very complex! It drives people to do extraordinary things! Even if the person doesn’t receive anything in exchange! There are so many people who do that—especially around this time, where hopelessness looms our heads brought by the pandemic. On the other end of the spectrum, some can also do unimaginable wicked things! But love should be positive, because it’s always kind (as the Bible says), I do believe that in kindness blossoms love! I really do! Because love is positive, love isn’t being greedy, love is always nurturing! Those who harm a person in the name of love, aren’t in love! I don’t think that’s love at all! Love will remain kind in my eyes!
And before I get too cheesy here, even though I chose to be single, my perspective in love remains untainted! I believe in love! I witnessed it in all kinds and it makes me super happy and giddy even if it’s not for me! Yes, that’s why I’m such a hopeless romantic in spite of it all. Because I also cherish the love that is not just love, but all the extraordinary ones too! So yes, don’t be sad during Valentine’s even if the right person hasn’t come yet we can all celebrate this festive season of love with friends, family, and yes, those fictional characters too! Love is great, isn’t it? ♥️
