Entering second half of the year is simultaneously amazing and unnerving. 😯

If were to describe my blogging this June is that it was the exact opposite of May where special or feature posts were abundant compare to reviews. In fact, I still have two posts written down but didn’t publish it because well, lazy! When will I ever learn to balance this hobby?! Never?

June in a Nutshell

That Bookish Index!

I read less compare to last month *sighs* I’ll probably poured my guts on this post as to why. Though my GR challenge looks stellar (because I am deceivingly ahead of schedule) that is because I added manhua, manhwa on it (I still haven’t add some I already read because adding them manually is a pain, well it did skyrocket my ranking as GR librarian). 😆 My huge passion to precise classifications made me do it. I also couldn’t add them to my MAL and booklog accounts because well, I’m an elitist otaku trash. *sobs hard*

But here are the books I managed to read & reviewed:

Other fandoms, passion, some RL & whatnots:

  • June means classes started and now I have my hands full of taking care of my niece during the afternoons! *daps eyes with handkerchief*my little girl is so big now!
  • Also went to see dad. I can’t believe it’s been two years since then. )Hard to celebrate father’s day without one.)
  • Tokyo Ghoul (Volume 1) in English is officially out and even debuted number 1 on New York Times Best Sellers List. Y’all should, like, read it and fangirl with me because this series is awesome if I haven’t said it enough! (while my copy of TG:re volume 3 is coming on its way). XD
  • Summer officially ended here but just starting to folks who live on the Northern Hemisphere! Anime series I was watching ended like Owari no Seraph and Kuroko no Basket (will watch later, broadcast was delayed!). But then I have three new series that I’m looking forward to (Aoharu x Kikanjuu, GOD EATER & Akagami no Shirayuki-hime) so there is that!
  • I’m officially a historical junkie. I love reading graphic novels of East Asian origin (particularly Taiwanese and Chinese). Who would’ve thought I had it in me?! (will write a post about it soon!)

439087zf2mcug0by On repeat!

I decided to include music related thingy since I saw people posting their favorite songs, or the song they currently like. To make things different mine would be the top 5 most  scrobbled (via songs of the month!

  • SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Gemie – X.U.
  • ウルトラタワー – 希望の唄
  • TK from 凛として時雨 – unravel (Acoustic version)
  • TRUSTRICK – 未来形Answer

I will never get sick of Unravel; it’s the theme song of my soul. also, thanks freepik for the icon. 😛

That’s what had rolled down last June, so now I turn over to you beautiful bookish peeps; how’s last month?! Fun? Exciting? Whatever that is, share it with me!!! 1008838wybxuht5da

  1. I will never learn how to balance blogging & life as well lol. One day I feel like YES! READ ALL THE BOOKS! REVIEW ALL THE BOOKS! Then next thing you know I’m like READING? EHHHH I RATHER SLEEP/DO HOMEWORK. Like wth brain, make up your mind! It wasn’t like this before though. During my first year of blogging I went NUTS. I posted on my blog frequently and was a bubbly blogger, but now not so much. And I’m happy for you that you saw your dad after 2 years!

Summer just started here in California and it’s blazing hot -.-. I rather live in the east coast since I love winter, but it’s kinda lonely there lol dead trees everywhere o.O

Me too. I do things I feel like doing atm. I’m the “in-moment” type. HAHAHA Oh, summer here is harsh too, I’m glad that it’s rainy season now. The wind becomes chiller. 😀

still so weird to think that for some school starts in june when for me, school ends in june. but anyway i hope school goes well for you! and how old is your niece? i have a second cousin who i kinda treat as my niece just because she’s so much younger. the last time i saw her she was barely one and now she’s four and it’s crazy because i’m going to see her this summer and I KNOW i will just be like oh my god where has the time gone you are so big now!

anyway have a good july! i swear it was just yesterday that i read your post for may. why is this year going by so fast????

    • Mitchii G. says:

She’s five turning 6 this month and she’s in the first grade. I was taking care of her when she was just a baby and now she’s super big and talkative. Time flies so fast. T.T

I will never learn to balance like Leigh. Seriously, holidays like this time make me wanna read because I got nothing better to do (laptop kinda broken? I’m having it fixed today). But imagine school year starts I’ll revert back to my lazy, anime obsessed self hahaha.

AKAGAMI IS ON MY TO WATCH LIST AS WELL. I saw the manga last week but didn’t pick it up because I was catching up to another series so I’m really intrigued. The title reminds me of Yona xD

And I’m glad you get to see your dad!! ^^ I haven’t seen mine for ages. I don’t know when he’s coming home from work overseas.

    Have a great July, Mitchii!!

I don’t know how to balance my hobbies. I’m the “my way or the highway” kind of person when it comes to it. LOL

Akagami is historical too but bit inspired by Snow White (hence the title: snow white with the red hair & you how shoujo manga revel heroines with red hair, idkw).

Actually, I lost my dad two years ago so we went and visited him. But I hope your father comes home soon! 😀

  4. I blog at three blogs now, and it’s slowly starting to seem impossible for me to balance them with school and reading, too! I hardly even have time to scratch my eye, and the next thing you know the year’s already halfway through!

My dad’s thankfully still with me, but I definitely know the feeling. I lost my grandfather about five years ago, and it was a really tough time for me since he was one of the people I was closest to, even more so than my parents at the time. >_<

I have two nieces and one godchild now at age fifteen, and it’s INSANE how fast they grow!<3

I don’t know how I’ll survive ever balacning books and blogging. I’ve got a whole pile of books to read and review, and almost all of them are late, but I’ve also got other reviews to write, and there is NO balance at all. *sighs* And all the hugs for you about your dad.

And I love your graphic for what you read this month! 😀

  7. LOL, same here. My June was such a disappointment compared to May, and it looks like July will be even worse because so far I’ve only managed to churn out two posts. /sad And wowww, I’m so proud of Tokyo Ghoul for making it to the NYT’s Bestselling List! It more than deserves it! I’ll try to get my hands on it when I go to the U.S. later this year. 😀 And aw man, I’m feeling nostalgic about KnB already. I’m going to miss the show and its characters so much, but at least we have an OVA to look forward to. Not forgetting Haikyuu!! Season 2! Wheeee~

Unravel is truly a miracle. One can just never tire of the song. <3 Hope July is treating you well, Mitchii!

    • Mitchii G. says:

Yes, super excited to HQ season 2. Actually most of my most anticipated anime series are in the Autumn line-up. Summer anime is lackluster compare to last year. T^T
