At first, I didn’t know what to post for monthly wrap-up seeing I was almost nonexistent in this blog. I only posted four times! *OTL* What a depressing fact but I already said my piece here. But the desire to blog is there; reading books, however, I’m still struggling. Even with Silver Shadows debuting last Tuesday didn’t sway me. Anyways, I want to do something about it. I’m just going to take a break from reviewing books and focus on the topics I want to discuss that is still book related (because I came up with a few). I’m hoping to exceed my disheartening number of posts last month (even by one post!). So those who care, here are the two highlights:

Flavors of the Month:
Book Review:
  • Wild by Alex Mallory

Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 list that I was supposed to post yesterday. (aka the reason why I’m in huge book slump though I’m not regretting I read/watch these awesome)

ARC Acquisition:
  • Everything That Makes You by Moriah McStay
  • Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
  • The Fall by Bethany Griffin
  • The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand

(because I’m a masochist and I can’t say no when I see that green bar on EW saying ‘download review copy.’ I’m weak, people! I’M WEAK! *collapsed on the floor crying* *rises up again* But I’m somehow proud, you know, I only downloaded four. I have found restraint! *regains confidence*)

Others: ETA: Also my domain hit another milestone. She’s three years old now and I might have put a little something in there!

Pondering: to accept commission again or not? *looks for a flower with millions of petals and rely on it for her decision*

How’s July? Productive? Awesome? Read anything great? Good for you because I envy you! Anyway, whatever it is do share it with me!

10 Responses to July in a nutshell

I’m the same with ARC’s, I kinda go crazy for them and then I later realise that I have like 100+ books waiting for me to read.
I hope next month is better for you in terms of reading, reading slumps are awful and it’s worse when you feel you can’t post anything relevant on your book blog. I wouldn’t worry though, I didn’t post at all in May then I picked up a easy and quick book (I find that children’s books help!) and it got me right back into reading again.
Can’t wait to read your future posts!

It’s hard to restraint yourself when it is available for you to download, haha. Thanks Amelia, yeah, here’s hoping to good reading month. 😀

  2. July was an awesome month, but it went by too fast like all the other months so far! I also can’t stop downloading books on Edelweiss, it’s an addiction.. I’m reading The fall now and it’s creepy 😀 Red queen is also in my collection.

I look forward to your book related posts and I hope you can get out of that reading slump this month 🙂

YAY! Hello Mitchii 😀 It’s okay that you didn’t do much in June 😉 Time to rejuvenate and enjoy other things! xD But HURRAH for self-restraint! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for myself 😛 I basically downloaded almost EVERYTHING. Horrible Emily. *collapses on floor next to you*
YAY for THREE YEARS of Skycircus!! :3 It’s time to celebrate!! Congratulations big sis! 😉
I hope to see more book-related posts too 🙂 But in the meantime, enjoy yourself! As for accepting commissions, do what your heart tells you, and if that’s what you think is good for yourself, then I say FULL STEAM AHEAD! 😀

Rejuvenating sounds heavenly! Thanks lil sis, it’s been three years, I can’t believe it! Happy b-day to my domain!

As long as the work is not full load/rush job, I’m ok accepting commission. xD

  4. July was a good month for me, but I think I’m reading fewer and fewer books with each passing month, and I still request too many books O_O I think that needs to change, pronto! If you want Mitchii, you could invite guest bloggers or guest reviewers for your blog if you want there to be more activity 😀 I’d willingly sign up if you open one! Haha!

That’s a great idea but I don’t know how to approach other bloggers. But will really think about it. Thanks for the tip. 😀

  5. So I blogged even less than you did in July. I think I posted like two reviews. Haha. I was so busy, though!

Ha, I only ended up downloading Red Queen (obviously) and A Wicked Thing (it sounds wicked!).

I read pretty great books and my favorite read of July turned out to be The Half Life of Molly Pierce.

Even though I’m in this book slump, I still decided to download it. But Red Queen really sounds interesting.

I have yet to read, I received an ARC for it so I might read it one of these days. Thanks Sana.
