Envy is such negative word for me. Envy is an ugly emotion and something I don’t want to feel in association to the things I love. So being envious of someone’s success is something I don’t even try to give a thought about, it’s not really worth my time.
So when it comes to blogging I never ever been insecure or envious of someone else’s blogging success. I think—which I already said over and over again—contented with how my blog runs now; more so when I decided to re-established my goals and reasons why I want to blog.
In the first place, for me, the term success can be measured differently. And definition of the word may depend on the blogger. Like for example, if I were to ask if I’m successful? I will tell you that I am, I think and I know that I am successful! The many years I invested in my blog and continuous love and growth I get from it say so much of my very own success. But if you ask someone else if they think that I am successful that will again depend on their own delineation, but to me, the important thing is my own personal growth and happiness. And in all honesty I’m very much successful. I can tell you that with a straight face!
Of course there’s an aspect of ‘what ifs’ in my head. Like I wish I have a good camera and nice studio with tons of props to work on my photos. Because I want pretty photos to represent my blog posts but it’s not something I actively I want to do. If I do have the money to spare, why not? But I won’t force myself to achieve that. I mean being a constant DIY girl gives me the freedom to compromise and make my own method that fits my lifestyle! I make use of the internet (which has tons of stuff that will help bloggers for free) and what I can do with it with what I just have right now. It’s time to get creative!!
I think instead of being envious we should turn it positive and think of it as inspiration. If that’s the question you ask me, then I will tell you wholeheartedly the blogs that inspire me! But them being inspiration doesn’t give us the license to imitate them! Inspiration and imitation aren’t the same. I think what make some bloggers stands out is their personal creativity. You have to give some personal touch even if that idea comes from something else! Make it more you; adapt it in the way that will fit your style! Be inspired! Keep blogging, I know we are own worst critics but we should all stop looking at others to measure our own journey! Choose to be positive, keep blogging! We’re doing a pretty good job! *thumbs up*
