Friday is for music, quotes and of course books!

I haven’t perfected the art of listening to music and reading a book at the same time. But that didn’t stop me to incorporate songs to books. If movies have soundtrack, why can’t books?

It’s a bi-monthly (because it’s hard y’know but if I’m feeling diligent I might do it regularly) meme I come up with. Pick a book, select your fave quote and choose a lyrics from a song that has a similar message as the quote!

Because this is the first, of course I chosen my favorite book of the year (yep, pretty sure it is my fave for 2011). If I Die by Rachel Vincent

“I’m not supposed to have a life, or a future beyond helping preserve the balance between life and death. My humanity is supposed to fade. They want us that way. Empty, so it’s easier to take life, day after day. Sometimes it becomes too easy, and reapers get bored. Desperate for something—anything—to break up the monotony.”

Tod Hudson — If I Die, Page 231

And we’ve got to find other ways to make it alone or keep a straight face.

And I’ve always lived like this, keeping it comfortable, distance. And up until now I’d sworn to myself that I’m content with loneliness…

The Only Exception — Paramore

This feels like cheating, but the author suggested the song itself. But I’m the one who chose which ones (quotes/lyrics). What’d you think?

Like it, feel free to spread the word!
