Show some love for your fave authors!

I greatly appreciate authors and creators without them my favorite series won’t be here for me to read and enjoy! But I don’t really need to be rubbing elbow with them, I think because of my very reserved personality I’m pretty happy just reading their works and their occasional personal tidbits here and there. I do not need to know so many details about them. They have their personal lives to deal with but I’m happy, grateful even, that some—

The highs and lows of an impatient manga reader!

When it comes to my manga series I’m very impatient! And being an overseas fan makes it harder to bear! But thanks to the internet it makes my impatience at bay! But still, the geographical restriction is something will always be part of my manga reading journey (unless I live in Japan…hmmm)! There are definitely cons not living in Japan but I just have to make amends so even though I’m huge manga reader who’s also pain in the ass—

Good characters are not necessarily good people.

Some people like villains. Some readers like the character so evil you’re keen to ask why. And because of that some will try to question you. Your moral. Your logic. Because of your choices. But they all forget that liking a character is not as simple as making them your favorite cos it aligns to what you believe, your moral stance or whatever—you just personally like how great the character is because the story and how that character is written—

My shoujo manga guilty reads! My fave mature romance!

I think the concept of guilty reads is more on people perception to the subject as opposed to your own. To me, my guilty pleasure reads are something I don’t often enjoy but crave it once in a blue moon. And  while I adore light slice of life shoujo manga: where two main leads blushes furiously over holding hands, sometimes I venture to the mature side! Now, even though I read them, I rarely like series that is ONLY it,—

Suspension of belief, how far will you allow it?

I don’t know about you guys but when it comes my choice of entertainment, I always (always) think that it’s not real, it’s just fiction and whether I end up liking or not has nothing to do with the story’s realism. Sure, I do want some hint of it (realism, I mean) but it’s not really a great big of a deal if it isn’t—especially if the story is overwhelmingly fictitious.  It’s just too much to ask for it when—

Character redemption: An always yes, or it’s case to case?

Usually this happens to anti-heroes or villains (especially ones with complicated backgrounds); for a character that so flawed, so infuriating (so evil…?) I think redemption is a necessity. But when it isn’t? Should character redemption always need to happen? Do characters need to redeem themselves or let them yield the consequences? Let them be their real evil selves? Normally, I always want the characters to redeem themselves. And in our true human nature, I’d like to see how he repent—

On full armor: do you defend your faves?

Are you the sensitive kind of fan? The kind that minds people opinion over your faves? Do you? Well, if you ask me if I am, I will say…it depends! Even they’re my faves I’m not blind of what its flaws. I understand not everything is perfect. But what I’m after when I’m reading is not perfection, it’s about the connection I have with the stories that I read. And yet, I still see people mad about other people criticizing—

Do I really ship in every chance I get?

To frequent visitors or those who have followed me for quite some time now you know this topic is coming (‘cos it’s the month yo~!) And for those not in the know—hello there! I’m Mitchii  and I’m a big shipper! *clears throat* Now that I’ve stated that fact, I’m about to, yes, talk about my shipping tendencies! I was told that I ship too hard and too much?! I will wholeheartedly admit about being a hard shipper but too much?—

I think I’ll be perpetually in love with the romance genre!

I think “romance” genre is overly saturated; there are just so many of them already. But it is the genre of my comfort reads and I love reading it. I don’t shy away from confessing my undying love for shoujo manga—which mostly are romance stories!  Also josei! And even if I’m reading shonen or seinen sometimes I do ship couples in there as well! There’s something uplifting about shipping and seeing these characters affection grows throughout the story is something—

I also buy the manga for the omakes?!

You know how huge of an advocate I am with supporting your fave mangaka and fave manga? Yes? If you love it go and buy it; I know internationally there’s gray area we all playing around *coughs* fan translation *coughs*  but when it comes to the heart of the matter, support is necessary even if you simply think of it as a form of appreciation to wonderful story you have read! But I will let you into a secret of—

2017 Statistics Report (and other geeky related things!)

I come up with this feature when I was sorting out my throwback post last year. Although that statistic is not really based on actual numbers (because I didn’t have the time for that—actually, I just sort of forgot and I didn’t tabulate all the numbers I needed LOL failed there, self)  Anyhoo, this is just an estimate because even without the numbers I’m pretty sure about the things I read for the entire year (note: this stats/recap covers December—

Twenty Seventeen Best of the Best!!

This is kinda easy and somewhat kinda hard list to do. One, I reread so much this year (look out for my yearly stat report about it) that I only have few titles to pick from. It’s hard in the sense, since you know it’s the “best” list soooo they should be the best (well, they are! They are! But it felt like I didn’t have lots of contender so it was winner came by default). Secondly, not only did—

    The Equally Important “Side” Characters

When it comes down to it, my favorite characters are always the main leads. They’re the protagonist for a reason; and it’s very rare that I fell hard (like super into it) for the rest of the characters of the story. But even though I don’t put ’em in my non-existent hall of famers, I find that these characters are equally important to the grand scheme of things. I remember sometimes when I read a novel; there is always lack—

How I choose my OTP/s (do I actually choose it?)

When it comes to shipping I’m the girl to ask! OK, not really because I tend to be very erratic when it comes to my OTPs. Although certain tropes helped mold the ‘one’ I must say that when the pairing hit me so hard, it just hit me so hard—solid heart-racing feels that is! Do I need to emphasize how notorious shipper I am? I think I have written tons of spazzing about my woes and foes as one.  Also—

Does everything need to resolve (in endings?)

Do you like a conclusive endings, or open-ended ones? Either ways when you start the story you’re bound to reach the end. Ending is ultimate goal, right? It’s where all stories are heading to. And so, we—or I guess me who is a type of reader that nit-picks the ending. BUT! Yes there’s a big but there, it all depends on the story. There are certain stories that I want a more conclusive, solid ending. With all the loose ends—
