Blogger / there are many reasons why we blog and that’s why it’s here to stay!

I heard a lot of buzz from people. They say that blogging is not trendy anymore, and a lot are moving to more popular platforms like Instagram and YouTube. And the worst they say about blogging is that it’s dying out. *gasp* How could they say to something I love, oh well that’s how it goes, but I just give zero care with all the hype!  I’m sticking to the platform I’m happy and comfortable with!  I’m here to stay and blog all the ridiculous ideas I have!

I know and I’m very much aware of how the blogging culture has changed over the years. The emergence of social media sites like Instagram and YouTube. The culture of digital influencers, where content creators are akin to celebrities now.  They have hundreds, thousands, if not millions of followers.  And there are people like me who create out of personal reasons and motivated to have an avenue for our thoughts.

I just want a safe space on the webs where I can talk about my favorite things! Maybe a bit of personal life, too, but essentially my blog provides a healthy channel where I can talk whatever I want.

I think the changes are very apparent yet I’m not completely concerned about it. When I find blogging as simple means to share and write my thoughts.  The “growth” of my blog by number of my followers is the least of my concerns. I’m not dismissing people who read my blog, I pretty much love them but I hope they’re sticking around ‘cos they like my content to some degree, nor I’m judging people who have plenty of followers. But that’s it, I’m not actively wanted to have hordes of readers. I just want a safe space on the webs where I can talk about my favorite things! Maybe a bit of personal life, too, but essentially my blog provides a healthy channel where I can talk whatever I want.

So yeah, in short I don’t mind if they think that blogging isn’t trendy anymore, or there’s huge dip in readership. I don’t mind if people start leaving and cultivate themselves in the greener pastures in form of social media sites. I’m actually contended where I am and my blog are.  It’s not dying, at least to me it’s not, but maybe it’s not “it” of the moment for someone else. I think as an active internet users since the early 2000s one thing that remains evident in this digital space are online journals. There are people who loves to blog, maybe who like me also loves to share their ideas, to chronicle their stuff, or just therapeutic way to write thoughts….there are so many reasons, some are personal, on why we blog and that’s why I think it’s here to stay!
