Hey you, yes you! I’ve got a secret to tell: my book blog (which has morphed into what it is now) was created in October, but this blog started way before that! I installed WordPress in July of 2010…I started Skye Station in July! I talked about the drama (both TV and life LOL) anime, manga and sometimes books…But when books begun to dominate the content of what supposed to be my personal blog, I’ve decided to trash everything and make a book review blog. And that was why I honor October as the date of my blogging anniversary!
I think the reason why I ended up following my book blog’s birthday as opposed to the real installation date is because that was the time when I was really started to get engrossed with blogging. I blog almost every day before (because I read one book a day…sometimes two—now you know how I got this massive burnt out!) but years went by and here I am went back to the original purpose but boost it up a little further! I feel like I’m a real blogger now as opposed to back then where I clumsily and awkwardly wrote my thoughts, nervous if someone got to read it! Now, I’m free to write whatever floats my mind!
I guess it helped that everything is now organized (as per my own validation, heh~) and also because I know WordPress better compare to when I first started. I also think my content today is better (AGAIN, subjective you guys!! I know I still suck at writing & my tenses are all over the place (I’m working on it albeit painful slow…) and when it was personal blog it had no real direction. In retrospect it was good thing that I scrapped everything and rebranded, even though I advocated keeping my posts for archiving purposes, I think a sort of re-start was the thing I needed the most back then!
But I don’t want to forget that one day in July where I decided, “I want to blog.” “It doesn’t matter what I will write, I just gonna speak my mind.” Those were the things that pushed me to install WordPress and make my blog! That is where it really started to me!! That was the starting line, and me who always cautious…love to plan but never get to start it, I’m happy that I went through it! That one day in July was memorable, it’s not the official blog anniversary that I follow but it’s another blog birthday that’s worth mentioning—worth this one whole post!
