Tuesday is for top ten list! Here’s mine!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list  that bloggers will answer.

The topic for this week is: September 24: Top Ten Best Sequels Ever

We all dreaded the middle book syndrome. We hate that a book series begins with a bang then fizzled because it didn’t live up to its predecessor. But thankfully there are fantastic sequels that blow my mind. And here are the books that made it to the list:

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi • (Review) I loved this book. Like LOVED it! I’ve wanted to read this book. I envied all those who had read it with fiery passion because I wanted to be one of them. But the wait was fully paid because this book blew my mind. The action, the intensity and the sexiness are just tip of the iceberg when it comes to this. If you have read Shatter Me & haven’t read Unravel Me then what are you waiting for. Go forth and read it (and fangirl with me). Unbreakable by Elizabeth Norris • (Review) I wasn’t a big fan of the second book but holy guacamole the sequel was super intense it just toppled and crushed the predecessor like nothing. It blew my expectations out of the water. I was also more connected with characters particularly agent Barclay. Oh my heart was ripped out and shredded because of what has happened. I can’t believe Ms. Norris did that. I want to cry again. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas • (Review) In Filipino, Grabe as in GRABE! This book is just awesome I couldn’t even properly explain. Yes, I did dive in with my shipping as my top priority. Little did I know that Ms. Mass had prepared shocking revelations and hair-pulling twist that will keep you at the edge of your seat. And sure it happened to me.   The Uprising by Lisa M. Stasse • (Review) I did like the first book. But like everything else I’m bit wary that the excitement it had in the first books will waver. But no, it actually intensified. The lies and betrayals happening was just as confusing as it was interesting. You don’t know which one to trust and safety of these kids hang on the balance. Who wouldn’t want that?! Time After Time by Tamara Ireland Stone • (Review) Once in a while characters whom I didn’t originally connect developed drastically in the sequel. And this is what had happened to me with Bennett. I neither care nor love him in the first book. But reading it in his perspective changed everything for me. I know care or perhaps I did love him now this time. 😉 Hallowed by Cynthia Hand • (Review) I loved this book. And this is my favorite book in the series because of one person—Christian Prescott. He was so caring, helpful, lovely e everything that I didn’t anticipate. He was so perfect for Clara that I cry every time I remember Boundless. I couldn’t even compare the two and that’s how superior this book is. Captivate by Carrie Jones • (Review) This book changed everything I know about the series. And that was because of the introduction of a new character—Astley. Man, the king of Pixie had me royally captivated (no pun intended). He was so… dreamy & caring. Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi • (Review) Man, whatever the author was holding back in the first didn’t second guess on shattering everything in here. It was totally awesome. I loved how she developed Perry and Aria’s character. Even Roar…oh gosh I remember again. My poor beloved Roar, hang in there baby. T_T All You Desire by Kirsten Miller • (Review) I’m still pleading that Ms. Miller will continue this series because up until now I still refuse to accept that the ending was one big cliffhanger. Like king of all king of cliffhangers. I want to know what really happened with Adam. There must be something! Please *pleads for the nth time*

And there you have it, my top ten favorite sequels. I still have few titles in mind like Pieces of Truth, Where She Went (didn’t I tell you that I dislike the actor they chose to play Adam Wilde) and just recently finished reading Never Fade. I have many sequels this year that I ended up liking a lot. Hopefully the momentum won’t falter.
